In North America there are two species of Eagles. The Golden Eagle and the Bald Eagle. The symbol for the USA is the Bald Eagle - that's the bird with the white head and the bright yellow beak. There are actually 60 Eagle species throughout the World.

This particular eagle statue is made of resin and electroplated with bronze. The wings are extended and look like two big fans. Individual feathers are easily seen. The pose of the eagle gives it a protective stance.
